UK £1 billion tile market braces itself for change as retail shopping continues its move online. Tile Devil's low cost approach offers deeply discounted prices on ceramic and porcelain tiles.
Dublin, Ireland. (PRWEB UK) 17 May 2016
A newly launched online tile store intends to surf the wave of retail companies abandoning the high street for the increasingly more prevalent e-commerce model.
Tiledevil.co.uk launched earlier this year. Its creators have been delighted at the response so far. Initial sales occurred within a month of launch.
Hilary Emerson, Tile Devil's Social Media Director, commented: "We recognised the paradigm shift in consumer spending on big ticket items and decided that the way to progress in this competitive market was online. We believe it's the future. The brick and mortar shopping experience is not for everyone, particularly those shy on time or whose working hours are not conducive to it."
Based in Dublin, Ireland, Tile Devil's operators believe they have a significant advantage over their competitors when selling into the UK, availing of a lower cost economy in terms of corporation tax and commercial rates, and they are using this to their advantage in driving down prices. Typically, their prices are half those offered by the high street merchants.
Tile Devil boasts an ever-growing range of ceramic and porcelain tiles for floors and walls. They also offer a no-charge sampling service, whereby they post a small sample of tiles to prospective customers on request, in advance of any sale.
"The samples are vital. It means customers can see the exact colour of a tile before they commit to it, and judge its texture and surface. These are things that cannot be appreciated with 100% accuracy on a PC or mobile device," Ms. Emerson commented.
"People can take their time and weigh up all options before making a purchase. Often orders are placed weeks after the samples have been received. Customers are usually not in a hurry if it means making the correct decision. It only takes an extra day for us to deliver goods across the water - it's not as if people are waiting for a newspaper," Ms. Emerson said.
Tiledevil.co.uk delivers all over the UK and Northern Ireland.
