He, along with other Council Members, will be responsible for recognizing the dominant role of new technologies in the future of national security and military missions. Overall, it is a priority of the Governor’s Military Council to identify and pursue actions to expand cyber activities and grow and retain military in the state. Slaght’s military expertise with the United States Navy's Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) and cyber security background adds great value to the Council as it broadens its plan for the Pacific growth and transition of California’s military.
“I believe California plays a critical role to national and defense security,” said Rear Admiral (Ret) Ken Slaght. “And of the focus of the Council recognizes the commercial side of the Department of Defense (DoD) and it’s the way of the future.
