Eighty-Six Percent of Country/Region Award Winners Won for the First Time. Wellness Travel Properties in Asia Have Record Showing.
London and Miami, FL (PRWEB) November 04, 2015
Spafinder Wellness 365™ today announced winners of the 2015 Wellness Travel Awards at a press event held at the World Travel Market in London. Inaugurated in 2014, the Wellness Travel Awards recognize the demand for healthier travel options and honor hotels, resorts, destination spas and retreats worldwide offering the best wellness vacations and experiences.
Winners were selected by a panel of 33 travel and wellness industry editors and experts, who nominated 504 properties for consideration before narrowing the field to finalists in 53 countries and regions, and by consumers who voted for their favorite locations across 20 categories. All Wellness Travel Award winners can be seen at http://www.wellnesstravelawards.com.
Reflecting the rapid growth and diversity of the wellness travel landscape, of the 43 properties winning Country/Region Awards, only six were winners in 2014. Notably, properties in Asia garnered 35 of the 200 top accolades across the 20 Category Awards.
Awards were presented by Mia Kyricos, chief brand officer of Spafinder Wellness, Inc.®, alongside Spafinder Wellness COO John Bevan, to the top properties in three categories: Crystal Awards, top properties on six (habitable) continents; Country/Region Awards, top properties in 43 countries/regions; and Category Awards, top 10 spas, hotels/resorts and retreats that offer exceptional wellness experiences in 20 special categories, such as “Best New Spa & Wellness Property” and “Best Overall Healthy Living Program.”
“We are honored to recognize the best in wellness travel from all corners of the globe,” said Kyricos. “Our objective is to help travelers identify options for their ideal wellness vacations, while also recognizing the excellence and innovation that exists in this rapidly growing sector of the travel industry."
