Mistie Witt, President of Action Products, Inc., Medical Products Group, is participating in a Mercy Ships Vision Trip aboard the Africa Mercy hospital ship. This trip is designed to highlight the opportunities for collaboration aboard the humanitarian vessel currently docked in Toamasina, Madagascar. Mrs. Witt will join several colleagues in this experience and show us her personal perspective on a travel blog that can be found at http://www.actionproducts.com/MercyShips. In addition to blogging, she will be sharing her experiences on Action’s social network.
“This is a remarkable opportunity. I am looking forward to meeting these amazing volunteers, and witnessing the value of their life-altering humanitarian efforts,” remarks Witt.
Joining other Mercy Ships partners, Ethicon and Johnson & Johnson, Action Products will participate in a Twitter Chat from the ship on Thursday, November 5th at 1pm EST. This chat will talk about one of the most significant women’s health issues facing developing nations today- Obstetric Fistula. According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), there is a backlog of about 50,000 women needing obstetric fistula surgeries in Madagascar. Therefore, Mercy Ships has made it a priority on this field service. We are proud to be associated with such a fine charity and welcome you to be part of the discussion at #endfistula.
