New look reflects area’s energy, abundance of amenities and creates a sense of place

The Town Center Community Improvement District rolls out an exciting new look for its logo today that celebrates the vitality and uniqueness of the area that it serves. Working with the award-winning Marietta agency 524 Creative, the organization shares a new logo and color palette, which will be followed by other key marketing pieces and a new website set to roll out in Q1 of 2016.
Since 1997, the Town Center CID and its partners have invested more than $140 million in infrastructure projects in the area in anticipation of growth, while improving the accessibility and attractiveness of Town Center’s 6.25 square miles. The area now boasts 5.5 million square feet of commercial space, 8 miles of scenic trails and access to two interstates. Also within its boundaries lie Kennesaw State University, Cobb County International Airport and a plethora of dining, shopping and entertainment options.
Creating partnerships with property owners, businesses, Kennesaw State University, and government agencies, the Town Center CID has a long list of accomplishments over the past 18 years and a number of future projects planned.
Logo Emphasizes Sense of Place
The new prismatic logo is representative of a virtual map pin, similar to what you would find on a GPS mapping application, visually implying that everything you need—commercial and residential real estate, education, dining, shopping and entertainment—is right here in Town Center, a 6.25 square-mile bright spot in Cobb County. The logo provides a sense of place with a professional and modern look that vividly reflects that the Town Center CID is putting the area on the map.
Its elements include vibrant colors that echo key components of the area, such as the gold in the colors of KSU and blue for Noonday Creek, which runs through Town Center. Other logo colors represent commerce and creativity, pulling together the many dynamic aspects of the area that comprise the whole of Town Center.
“The Town Center community is one of the most desirable, easily accessible and beautiful locations in Atlanta for every part of your life,” said Tracy Rathbone, Executive Director of the Town Center CID. “The tens of thousands who spend their weekday here or visit on the weekends love the community’s abundance of shopping and dining experiences, scenic trails and the chance to simply explore,” she said. “We want people to feel a part of a thriving, safe and attractive community, and it’s exciting, as part of the CID, to help make that happen.”
“The CID is putting Town Center on the map,” said Sharon Mason, Chief Operating Officer for the Cobb Chamber. “Many people in Atlanta and beyond may not realize all that Town Center has to offer, but the CID is making sure they find out. They’re doing a great job of marketing the area as a great destination in which to work, own a business and just spend time in. The new logo is reflective of the vibrancy and forward thought that the Town Center CID is known for,” she said.
New Vision, New Direction
“At the end of the day, our effort is about more than just the CID. It’s about promoting and investing in the entire Town Center community,” said Mason Zimmerman, Chairman of the TCCID and Senior Vice President at Pope & Land. “Our vision is to make this the best place we can by constantly working with our partners to improve it to attract more businesses, residents and visitors, while also enhancing the quality of life in our community. The projects we are working on now and have planned for the future will do just that, and our new brand and marketing initiatives will certainly support and expand these efforts. With Tracy leading the way, I know we can implement the CID’s full vision of enriching not only property values but the lives of those who spend time here, while increasing the visibility and cache of the area as a whole.”
About the TCCID
Founded in 1997, the Town Center Community Improvement District is dedicated to the improvement of the Town Center area through transportation infrastructure, safety improvements, beautification and other projects. The Town Center CID utilizes funds from voluntary commercial real estate taxes to implement its projects. Through its collaborative efforts with community partners, it manages growth and economic development in the area and strives to preserve and enhance real estate values by bringing more interest and investment to the community.
