In keeping with its demonstrated commitment to working adults, the University of the Potomac is proud to announce a day of free professional development and business entrepreneurship seminars for the general public. The workshops, to be conducted by the school's Alumni Career Advisory Committee, will focus on the world of work, for both employees and future employers or business owners.

The University is especially pleased to invite the public to this event because Potomac caters to ambitious adults who are eager for career advancement through the acquisition of highly marketable skills. At this day-long series of seminars, the focus will be on what workers need to know to succeed in the marketplace of the 21st century. Instructors will demonstrate how to make social media networks help employees in landing jobs, and how to gain highly sought-after certifications that will increase individuals’ value and career options. Potential entrepreneurs might even have thought about starting a business, but were put off by the complex maze of regulations. So, experts from the federal Small Business Administration will provide guidance and pointers on the basics of small business ownership, the 8A certification program and how to land those federal government contracts.

The University of the Potomac is an institution offering bachelor's and master's degrees and certificates in business and information technology. The school has two central locations in Washington D.C., and Vienna, Virginia. All campus-based programs are also offered online.
