Uniweld's Richard Apodaca and Mario Portillo visit Guatemala for a HVAC/R Training Seminar
(PRWEB) October 09, 2015
The Unirefri/Granada seminar, held on Tuesday September 24th at the Hilton Garden Inn in Guatemela, provided the opportunity to illustrate the gamete of Uniweld?s product line including brazing equipment, NV1 Nitrogen Flow indicator, portable hand torches, renowned EZ Turn adaptors/hoses and Uniweld?s wide selection of brazing tips to HVAC technicians & industry related professionals.
The training, held by Richard Apodaca, Director of International, and Mario Portillo, International Sales Executive, focused on brazing technologies available for HVAC/R systems and safety practices. Subsequently, emphasizing how important it is to use Nitrogen when brazing. By not using nitrogen while brazing, scale build up forms inside the copper tube which can cause blockage in the expansion valve and other components of the air conditioning and refrigeration system, resulting in premature failure. Uniweld?s International Sales Executive, Mario Portillo stated, ?Not only do we feel responsible as manufacturers to educate technicians on using the proper tools but to hear them excited about implementing your suggestions to their daily duties because it?s beneficial to them, is gratifying?. Visitors were later asked to compare the experience of attaching an EZ Turn? hose to an access fitting under pressure and compare it to the challenges faced when attaching a standard hose.
The seminar was hosted by Uniweld?s long time authorized distributor in Guatemala, UNIREFRI, which distributes Uniweld products through its branches headquartered in Guatemala City, Guatemala. UNIREFRI was founded in 1984, in Guatemala, in order to meet the demand for products and services of high quality for refrigeration and air conditioning industry. They have major presence in Guatemala and El Salvador, with 4 branch offices and a general warehouse, including 25 years of experience in the market and part of a group of more than 50 years.
A live soldering demonstration was held using dissimilar metals as with Uniweld?s UNI-4300 aluminum soft solder kit. The kit, which is available with or without the metal tip applicator, is a great solution for the service technician who is frequently confronted with the task of repairing aluminum or joining aluminum to aluminum, aluminum to copper, or aluminum to brass. UNI-4300 is an excellent product for this repair application due to its low melting point of 500ºF (260ºC) and 20,000 PSI tensile strength.
UNIREFRI, a Uniweld authorized distributor and host of the event, was very pleased with the attendance at the seminars and level of knowledge which was shared among all that were present.
