About 470 GE Monogram Pro Rangetops with Grills are being recalled because some burners may fail to light if the gas control knob is left in a position between "OFF" and "LITE," posing a risk of delayed ignition or explosion. GE has received six reports involving explosions, including reports of damage to kitchen cabinets beneath the Rangetop. No fires or injuries have been reported. Made in Mexico and imported by General Electric Appliances, of Louisville, Ky., the ranges were sold nationwide for between $3,400 and $4,700 between May 2008 and August 2011. Consumers are advised to stop using the appliance and contact GE for a free repair. Toll free 866 645-3956 or online www.geappliances.com/products/recall.
