The product: pantyhose.

The expert: Jaime Windrow, a member of the famous, high kicking Radio City

Music Hall Rockettes, now performing during the annual Christmas Spectacular

stage show.

I must have: Offstage as well as on, Rockettes take pride in our legs! When

I wear a really good pair of pantyhose for a night out on the town, it does

reflect the elegance that embodies our troupe.

What I want: Durability, comfort and style.

What I hate: They can't be tried on! What fun is shopping when you can't

try on the item you're shopping for?!

Savvy shopper: If you don't want to spend a lot of money just for a pair of

stockings, wait until an annual sale and stock up on a good line. You can also

check out eBay for some good deals on high-end pantyhose (and yes, they are

brand new).

My pick: Wolford brand in tan or black fishnets. They are pricey, but they

have a well-deserved reputation for being indestructible and comfortable - the

waistband sits below your navel so it doesn't dig into your stomach like so

many other brands ($30-$50 a pair; Wolford has three New York City boutiques

and is also available at Saks and Barneys).

Next best thing: Black fishnet tights make legs look slim and beautiful and

provide a finishing touch to an ensemble ($8.40 a pair, JC Penney).
