Survey ranks 2 LI law firms among best in nation

Two Long Island law firms have ranked nationally in a survey of the nation's best law practices.

They also were among 23 law practices ranked as top-tier on Long Island.

Those ranked in three levels of esteem were selected from among more than 10,000 law firms based on surveys conducted by U.S. News & World Report and the publishers of "The Best Lawyers in America." Results were published this month, based on confidential surveys of about 40,000 lawyers and clients.

Ranking nationally were:

Nixon Peabody Llp, Jericho, Tier 1 for franchise law.

Bond, Schoeneck & King Pllc, of Garden City, Tier 2 for employment law, representing management, and Tier 3 for labor law, representing management.
