HOW MUCH: Free, no in-app purchases

COMPATIBLE WITH: Computers; mobile app for Apple and Android phones and tablets

WHAT'S GOOD: Tired of pestering the kids to do their chores and homework? My Job Chart helps organize tasks, reports back to parents when they've been completed and allows parents and kids to set up a reward payout for each one. A parent sets up the free account through an email address and then adds other family members -- indicating parent or child status for each. Each family member has to log in with a password. Specific chores can be assigned to each child through a drop-down menu, or parents can create customized tasks. A point value (1 point equals 1 cent) is assigned to each chore. On completion of a job, the child logs in and clicks that it is done. A message can also be sent to parents. Kids can decide whether they want the money they've earned deposited into a savings account, spent on "family rewards" (hiking, a picnic, TV time, computer time), spent on items they preselect from Amazon.com or donated to a charitable cause.

WHAT'S NOT: We wish the earn/reward interface was a bit less convoluted. Overall, the computer interface for assigning jobs was more user-friendly, while the reward choices seem easier to select on the mobile app.

BOTTOM LINE: The "reward" for parents could be less nagging to get chores done.
