Handmade Charlotte, created by a mother of five living on a farm, offers DIY craft projects for kids, as well as recipes, design and family-space inspirations "to help families create unforgettable moments."

The site is easy to use and easy on the eyes, fashioned from muted pastels and a type font we could read forever. And the projects, whether vintage-inspired or new, are as easy to slip into as a pair of comfortable old shoes. We were besotted with the Printable Animal Sewing Cards for Kids, which brought a smile as it reminded us of our own childhood sewing projects. The easy-to-follow directions not only list the supplies you need, they provide a PDF download of the card designs that you can print onto card stock. (Also check out the Printable Sewing Card Activity for Kids from July 11.)

Another project that caught our attention: a child's access door built within a regular door, from an article titled "Home Design With Kids in Mind." Similar to a doggy door in concept, this miniature door-within-a-door is cut to a child's height and has an elephant doorknob. We also liked Animal Snack Attack, healthy treats that kids will find irresistible because they are designed to look like animals; and a DIY Cardboard Bloc City Play Set you purchase on Etsy that kids 4 and older can assemble themselves.
