Legendary rock vocalist Darlene Love, a Suffern resident, will make a hometown appearance when she performs a sold-out show at the Lafayette Theatre on Valentine’s Day (97 Lafayette Ave., Suffern; 845-369-8234; www.bigscreenclassics.com/lafayette.html). Love also will be the special guest Wednesday on Rockland’s WRCR AM 1300 radio program, “Mostly Movies with Mercedes and Big Jim.”

Mercedes Kent, the show’s co-host, said there are a couple things she’d like to ask Love, a 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. “I want to congratulate Darlene Love on her induction and ask why it was so long in the coming,” Kent said, adding that she also wants to know how Love became Danny Glover’s wife in the “Lethal Weapon” movies.

Love, who has performed in Broadway musicals including “Grease” and “Leader of the Pack,” also is featured in “Twenty Feet From Stardom,” a new documentary about backup singers that recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

To listen to Love live Wednesday on the "Mostly Movies" radio program, which begins after the news at 5 p.m. on WRCR AM 1300, go to www.wrcr.com.
