Since its launch in 2007, the iPhone has changed the way people use their phones, with different models and innovations now taken for granted.

Here's a look back through the years at the device.

Introduction of the iPhone

January 2007: Apple owner and founder Steve Jobs introduces the iPhone on Jan. 9, 2007, during a Macworld convention in San Francisco. The device was designed to work as a phone, an iPod and an internet device. Jobs died in October 2011.

First iPhone release date

Verizon Wireless adds iPhone

January 2011: Verizon and Apple announce the iPhone would be available on Verizon Wireless' network. The phone had been exclusively on AT&T in the United States until this point.

iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S introduced
