Video chat on Facebook is the “awesome” new product launch Mark Zuckerberg alluded to  earlier this week.

At a Facebook's news conference Wednesday, Zuckerberg and Neil Stevens of Skype officially announced that Facebook users will soon be able to experience seamless and free face-to-face video calling with Facebook buddies. Best of all, Skype video will be integrated directly within the Facebook website and there will be no need to open additional software.

There is no word yet on when, or if, the video calling technology will make onto the Facebook mobile apps. As of now, only computer-to-computer calls will be available.

Facebook will roll out the feature to its 750 million members during the next few weeks.
