PlayStation All-Stars get ready to rumble

Warp Pipe talks to SuperBot about PlayStation's upcoming game, which features many of Sony's favorite video game faces. Videojournalist: Vincent Balestriere (July 22, 2012)

Don't call them a clone because this crossover fighting game is not that. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale may draw similarities with its concept to others; however, there is much more to it than its growing cast of some of video gaming's familiar faces.

God of War's Spartan antihero Kratos is no stranger to jumping double-chained blades first into a fight after a successful appearance in the 2011 NetherRealm Studios' Mortal Kombat video game. However, if he thought he had a handful with Scorpion and Sub-Zero, then he will have his hands full with Uncharted's Nathan Drake, Sly Cooper and even the Fat Princess herself.

The path to victory will not come as easily, as bashing opponents into the ground in the one of the already confirmed five stages will be based on a combination of two games. Players will have to collect scattered orbs around the arena all the while putting the hurt on their opponents, increasing a power meter that rises from levels one to three. Executing a power move from each of these levels result in different devastating attacks. The only way to defeat opponents is by accessing these special attacks.

Warp Pipe had a chance to talk to SuperBot community manager Daniel Maniago about the developer's upcoming game set to be released this holiday season. Here are the confirmed fighters in the game so far:

*Big Daddy from BioShock

*Cole MacGrath from Infamous

*Colonel Radec from Killzone

*Fat Princess from Fat Princess

*Heihachi Mishima from Tekken

*Jak and Daxter from Jak and Daxter

*Kratos from God of War

*Nathan Drake from Uncharted

*PaRappa from PaRappa the Rapper

*Sly Cooper from Sly Cooper

*Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal

*Toro Inoue from Together Everywhere!
