Friends and family gathered at the Peekskill waterfront Sunday to welcome a new memorial for Christopher Baisley, the 52-year-old Garrison man who drowned in the Hudson River off Peekskill trying to save his 7-year-old niece in August. The weeping beech tree, bench and plaque offer a place to "reflect and remember Chris," who loved the water, said longtime friend Tom Brady. A memorial took place Sunday to honor Christopher Baisley, a Garrison man who drowned in August while saving his niece. The 52-year-old man had jumped into the Hudson River in Peekskill after his 7-year-old niece fell off a raft.
