TUESDAY: Consumer prices from the Labor Department and housing starts from the Commerce Department, both for May. Earnings: software maker Adobe Systems, La-Z-Boy.

WEDNESDAY: The Federal Reserve concludes a two-day meeting with an announcement on monetary policy and a news conference from Chair Janet Yellen. Earnings: FedEx.

THURSDAY: The state Labor Department posts Long Island jobs created in May, and the U.S. Labor Department releases claims for jobless benefits for the week ended June 14. Also, leading indicators for May from the Conference Board. Earnings: BlackBerry, supermarket owner Kroger, software maker Oracle, Rite Aid.

FRIDAY: Earnings from Olive Garden owner Darden Restaurants and CarMax.
