Shubham Maheshwari, who held executive positions at KLA-Tencor and other electronics companies, Tuesday was named the chief financial officer of Veeco Instruments Inc. Maheshwari replaces David Glass, 54, who announced his retirement from the Plainview company in December.
Maheshwari, 42, most recently served as chief financial officer of OnCore Manufacturing Services, a San Jose, Calif., provider of electronics. Before joining OnCore, he worked at two other California companies, serving as senior vice president finance at Spansion, a maker of flash memory systems, and corporate controller at KLA-Tencor, a maker of equipment for semiconductor manufacturers.
"Shubham brings an ideal mix of highly relevant financial leadership experience to Veeco," said John Peeler, Veeco's chief executive.
Maheshwari has degrees in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, India, and Kansas State University, and a master's in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
Veeco makes equipment used to produce light-emitting diodes, flexible LEDs, solar cells and computer hard drives.
