Businesses remain closed four days after Jerome Ave. roof collapse

Firefighters evacuated all surrounding businesses after the collapse.

THE BRONX - Several businesses are still closed four days after a partial roof collapse at 2614 Jerome Ave.

The building owner says he hopes to have some businesses open tomorrow.

He says the he thinks the building is safe, but says the front awnings of two stores are an issue. A vacate order was issued on the building by the Department of Buildings.

The DOB has not made clear when anything will repoen, only that the vacate order was issued and that it is the owner's responsibility to complete necessary repairs.
