THE BRONX - Some students in The Bronx took the time to reach out and help shooting victims in Newtown, Conn.

About 200 kids from the New Visions Charter School spent hours writing letters of condolence to students from Sandy Hook Elementary School. The notes were delivered as children prepared to return to school for the first time since the December massacre.

The letter writing session is part of an advisory program that focuses on personal growth and development. It encourages ninth and 10th-graders to express their feelings about challenging issues.
