A Mount Vernon woman who is accused of killing her newborn baby had her case delayed Monday in court.

Police charged 27-year-old Kadian Gilzeane with murder earlier this month after her newborn was found dead in her bathroom, wrapped in plastic.

Gilzeane initially went to Mount Vernon Hospital and told staffers she had a miscarriage, but during her examination, doctors discovered she gave birth.

The judge in Gilzeane's case adjourned the hearing for two weeks, when she is then expected to answer to the charges.

Gilzeane has another child who is 5 years old.
