HOWELL TOWNSHIP - Police are looking for the person who shot a neighborhood cat with an arrow and left her needing emergency surgery.

The injured animal was found on Saturday by a resident of the Winding Brook Mobile Home Park. The cat was clearly suffering with an arrow in her chest.

Associated Humane Societies says the cat, named Jade, was microchipped last October when it was picked up as a stray.

AHS brought Jade to an emergency veterinary center for surgery to remove the arrow and repair the damage.

Authorities describe Jade as a "neighborhood" cat that several people in the mobile home park take care of and feed.

Police canvassed the area but did not make any arrests. Anyone with information should contact Howell police.
