CORTLANDT MANOR - Children inside an early learning center at a Cortlandt Manor house had to flee for their lives after a fire this morning.

Educator and homeowner Marcia Royce was able to get four children who were inside the building to safety.

It took fire crews more than an hour to extinguish the fast moving blaze. Officials say there was a problem getting into the front door of the home due to an obstruction. By the time the crew got to the back of the house, the fire had already destroyed much of the structure.

Fire officials say crews remained on the scene to put out hotspots. Investigators say the fire is not likely to be suspicious.
