Porsche details 27,000 Facebook fans on 911 hybrid
Porsche’s super-custom Porsche 911 GT R Hybrid is making its first appearance in North America at the New York Auto Show at the Jacob Javits Center. What’s so special about the car? Well it has the names of 27,000 people who “liked” the official Porsche community page on Facebook.
The painstaking detailing of the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid was the German automaker’s way of celebrating the 1-millionth fan on the company's page.
Porsche say the custom 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car with Facebook fan names is powered by a 4-liter six-cylinder flat-twin engine with 480 horsepower. This more traditional engine works together with electric front-axle drive with two electric drive motors that give an additional 60 hp. and provide power to auxiliary devices.
