Chrysler recalls late model Durango, Jeep models
Chrysler Group LLC has issued a recall notice for more than 17,000 vehicles that include Dodge Durango and several Jeep Cherokee models. In addition, the company also issued a recall notice for more than 6,000 Ram ProMaster commercial vehicles. Details about the recalls are listed below.

NUMBER OF VEHICLES: 17,726
SUMMARY: Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2014 Dodge Durango vehicles manufactured between Jan. 16, 2014, and April 8, 2014; Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles manufactured between Jan. 16, 2014, and April 8, 2014; Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT vehicles manufactured from Feb. 3, 2014, to April 8, 2014; and Jeep Cherokee vehicles manufactured from March 6, 2014, to April 17, 2014. When the adaptive cruise control is engaged and the driver presses the accelerator pedal to increase the vehicle's speed more than the cruise control system allows, the vehicle may continue to accelerate briefly after the accelerator pedal is released.
CONSEQUENCE: The unintended acceleration may increase the risk of a crash.
REMEDY: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will re-flash the Driver Assistance System Module, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in June 2014. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P31.
2014 Ram ProMaster(Credit: Chrysler)
SUMMARY: Chrysler is recalling certain 2014 Ram ProMaster vehicles manufactured between April 23, 2013, and May 22, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience circuit corrosion from water intrusion around the in-floor battery cover and door foot-well trim.
NUMBER OF VEHICLES: 6,120
CONSEQUENCE: This water intrusion may affect the vehicle's running and disable the air bags, stop lamps, turn signals, backup lights and/or door locks, increasing the risk of a crash, as well as injury to the occupants if the air bags do not deploy.
REMEDY: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect all the connectors in the foot-well areas, the ignition fuse and the occupant restraint control module, known as ORC, for corrosion, if corrosion is found, dealers will repair the connectors in the foot-well area and the ignition fuse, and replace the ORC module. Dealers will also install a water barrier sealer on the floor, add dielectric grease to all foot-well connectors and replace the body plug. The in-floor battery ignition fuse will be relocated, and dielectric grease added to the ORC module connector. These repairs will be performed, free of charge.
