Chrysler will recall 24,177 vehicles due to a potential defect in a brake system that could result in sudden brake failure.

The recall applies to 2010 Jeep Liberty, Dodge Avenger and Nitro, Commander and Grand Cherokee, Chrysler Sebring, as well as the 2009-2010 Dodge Ram trucks.

In a filing with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Chryself said the faulty brakes could result in brake failure without warning and could cause a crash. The company also said no accidents or injuries have been reported relating to the brake issue.

The recall is expected to begin during the month of January.
