Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna offer seating for eight
Q. Which 2013 minivans can seat eight?
A. All manufacturers haven't disclosed changes for the next model year as of this writing, but it's a good bet that the same two minivans that offered seats for eight in 2012 -- the Honda Odyssey and the Toyota Sienna -- will be the only two that have them for 2013.
In the Odyssey, seats for seven are standard on the LX model spread among three rows, but the EX and Touring models add a center seat for the second row to increase capacity to eight. On the Sienna, the LE, XLE, SE and Limited versions add a removable center seat in the second row for eight-passenger capacity. In both cases, seats are arranged in rows of 2-3-3 from front to rear.
Other minivans -- including the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan, Kia Sedona, Nissan Quest and Volkswagen Routan -- come with seven seats. Adding one more as a running change would be a major undertaking to anchor the seats and install the required seat belts.
