Mercedes-Benz electric car, the B-Class Electric Drive, premieres at NY Auto Show

Mercedes-Benz took to the bright lights of the 2013 New York International Auto Show to introduce the brand's first-ever electric vehicle to the world.

The five-seat hatchback is based on the brand's B-Class, which debuted in Europe in 2005, and comes with a battery-powered engine that delivers a 115-mile driving range, 134 horsepower and 228 lb.-ft. of torque.
