The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is issuing a recall of 46,000 2009-2010 Nissan Cube because of excessive fuel leakage after a rear crash test that could lead to fires. Owners will be advised to bring their cars into official Nissan dealers, where a special protector to the gasoline recirculation tube will be attached free of charge.

Owners should expect to be contacted by Nissan by August 30 via mail. For more information,  call Nissan at 800-647-7261 or  the NHTSA’s hot line at 888-327-4236.
