One of the few concepts at the New York Auto Show is the beach-loving Suzuki Makai concept. The Makai is a bit reminiscent of the old-school Volkswagen Cabriolet convertible of the late '80s and early '90s.

The Makai is a bright orange, sits low to the ground, presumably has a rag top and two prominent roll bars. Inside, the seats look like strapped beach chairs, and the console has an integrated GPS surrounded by clean, simple controls.

The interior and exterior give an open, airy, fun-in-the-sun feel.

No word yet on whether a version of this car will actually make it into production. But for those who can afford a summer and/or sunny-day-only car and who don't mind turning a few heads, this could be the car for you.
