Roger P. Smith has been named principal and lead architect at BBS Architects, Landscape Architects and Engineers in Patchogue, following the acquisition of Ward Associates in Bohemia. The Bayport resident was previously principal architect at BBS Architects & Engineers before its acquisition of Ward Associates.

BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS

Jon Cooper of Lloyd Harbor has been named to the board of directors of the Family Service League, a Huntington-based social services organization. He is president of Spectronics Corporation in Westbury and a former Suffolk County legislator.

Daniel Frisa of Manhasset has been elected to the corporate membership of the Long Island Development Corp., a Westbury-based nonprofit economic development organization. He maintains a private law practice in Manhasset.

FINANCE

Jeffrey B. Sherman has joined the Suffolk Federal Credit Union as a senior relationship manager in business services. The Lake Grove resident held a similar position at M&T Bank in Melville before joining the Medford-based financial institution.

John Scott has joined the Jericho-based accounting firm Grassi & Co. as a principal. The Upper Saddle River, N.J., resident was previously a consultant on intellectual property and intangible asset valuation cases.

Gary Sarro of Smithtown has been named group director and senior vice president after working 30 years for HSBC, most recently as senior vice president and team leader at its Melville location.

Smithtown resident Alan Giaimis has been named group director and senior vice president. He worked at HSBC in Melville, most recently as a senior vice president.

Robert J. Caruana Jr. has been named associate group director and vice president. He was vice president and relationship manager at HSBC in Melville for eight years.

Jessica Alagna of East Meadow was named senior client associate. She was a senior private client services administrative assistant also at HSBC in Melville.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Dilys Audrey Whyte has joined the new division of pediatric nephrology at Good Samaritan's Center for Pediatric Specialty Care in Babylon. The Coram resident has more than 10 years of experience as a physician, director and professor in the fields of pediatrics and nephrology, most recently in pediatrics at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip.

Mark A. Bogen has been promoted to senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. He was promoted from vice president of finance, a position he held since 2008. Bogen is a Melville resident.

HORSE RACING

Susanne Stover has joined the New York Racing Association as senior vice president and chief financial officer. She was the chief financial officer at Rosa Mexicano Restaurants, a chain of 13 high-end eateries in seven states. NYRA operates three thoroughbred racetracks -- Belmont Park, Aqueduct and Saratoga. Stover is a Brooklyn resident.
