Alicia McIlwain Marks has been elected secretary to the executive board of the Child Care Council of Suffolk. The Huntington resident is owner and operator of Marks of Excellence Childcare in Amityville and operates the Copiague School District Universal pre-K program.

Karen Villanueva-Walsh has been named president of the executive board of the Stony Brook University Hospital Auxiliary. The Selden resident is project manager in the facilities and project management department at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Mary-Rita Wallace has been appointed chair of the grievance committee of the Nassau County Bar Association. The Sands Point resident is an attorney with Duffy & Duffy of Uniondale.

NONPROFITS

Tim Almeida has joined AHRC Nassau as business development manager in the E Works division. The East Meadow resident recently retired from the Jericho School District as director of facilities. AHRC is an organization serving the needs of those with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.
