Angie Carpenter has been elected to serve on the New York State Government Finance Officers' Association Board of Governors. The West Islip resident currently serves as Suffolk County treasurer in Riverhead.

Suzanne Gilchrest has been appointed executive director of the Gemini Youth Orchestras of Melville. The Brooklyn resident is a musician and serves on the faculty of the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions at The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University.

Dr. Henry Woo has been elected to the board of directors for the American Heart Association's Long Island region. The Setauket resident is a practicing neurosurgeon, professor of Neurosurgery and Radiology at Stony Brook University School of Medicine and director of the Cerebrovascular Center at Stony Brook University Hospital.

ENGINEERING

Frank P. Castellano has been promoted to senior vice president and chief operating officer at P.W. Grosser Consulting, an environmental consulting and engineering firm in Bohemia. The East Setauket resident was previously vice president and chief operating officer and has been with the firm since 1992.

LAW

Thomas G. Huszar has joined Moritt Hock & Hamroff as partner in its Corporate, Securities & Financial Services Practice Group in the Manhattan office. The Port Washington resident formerly served as counsel at Tarter Krinsky & Drogin, also in Manhattan.

Robert P. Schwartz has joined the Law Offices of Alan J. Schwartz of Garden City as an associate. The Queens resident previously worked as a public interest fellow for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

FINANCE

Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein & Wolpow, an accounting firm in Melville announces three new hires:

Andrew S. Cohen has joined as a tax specialist. The Roslyn Heights resident previously worked as a tax attorney and supervisor at Marcum in Melville.

Joshua Michael Berg joined as a senior accountant. He was previously a senior accountant at Ernst and Young in Manhattan, where he currently resides.

Elaine De Luca Byrnes of Port Jefferson Station is the firm's new chief marketing officer. She was formerly the director of marketing at Albrecht, Viggiano. Zureck & Company in Hauppauge.

Jeffrey Gluck has been named accounting services practice leader for the Manhattan office of CBIZ MHM, an accounting and business management services company. The Long Beach resident has been with the firm since 1992 and is currently managing director.

John F. Stewart has been named chief executive of First National Bank of New York in Melville. The Massapequa resident was formerly president of Citibank Local Markets in Manhattan.

REAL ESTATE

Geri DeRosa Ertle has joined Charles Rutenberg Realty as a licensed associate broker in the Setauket office. She lives in Setauket. She formerly held a similar position at RE/MAX Signature.
