Dr. Roger L. Simpson has been elected president of the Long Island Plastic Surgical Group. The Merrick resident has been a partner at the practice since 1981 in addition to his role of director of the residency training program in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC), chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery, director of the burn center, and chief of hand surgery service also at NUMC. This is his second term as president, having first served between 2002 and 2007.
Dr. William Briner has joined the Hospital for Special Surgery's Long Island physicians' office in Uniondale as a primary care sports medicine physician specializing in the nonsurgical treatment of orthopedic injuries. The Long Beach resident previously spent 23 years on the family medicine faculty of Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Ill., where he also was sports medicine fellowship director.
