Matthew Colson has been named executive director of alumni relations for Stony Brook University. The Medford resident was director of alumni relations and stewardship at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue.

HEALTH CARE

Dr. Gregory Sirounian joins the department of orthopedic surgery at Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola. The Garden City resident is board certified, specializing in complex adult hip and knee replacement and revision surgery. He relocated from Integrated Medical Services in Arizona.

He is an active fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and is also a fellow with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone in Mineola has announced two new positions.

Robert R. Barravecchio, of Staten Island, has been named of counsel in the firm's labor and employment, and litigation practice groups. He was an associate at Epstein, Becker & Green in Manhattan.

Brian K. Janowsky, of Brooklyn, has been hired as an associate in the trusts and estates, and tax-exempt organizations practice groups. He was an associate at Bond, Schoeneck & King in Syracuse.
