Dr. Salvatore Trazzera has joined the department of cardiology at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn. He has also been named associate director of cardiology at St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage. The Cold Spring Harbor resident is the medical director of Farmingdale Heart & Vascular Center.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

DKC, a public relations, marketing and government affairs firm in Manhattan, welcomes two new hires.

Carolyn A. Petschler joins as a senior account executive. The New Hyde Park resident is a Navy veteran and most recently worked on the women veterans civilian transition campaign for Fatigues to Fabulous in Manhattan.

Carolyn Stone also joins as a senior account executive. The Rockville Centre resident was principal of Positive Recognition Public Relations, a Rockville Centre-based public relations and business development consulting firm.

ENERGY

LAW

Brian P. Boland joins Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman in East Meadow as an associate in the banking/commercial lending practice group. The East Meadow resident was an associate at CU Settlement in Melville.

Jack L. Libert has been named partner at Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana in Uniondale. The Oyster Bay resident rejoined the firm as counsel in 2010 and was a founding partner of the law firm D'Amato, Forchelli, Libert, Schwartz and Mineo.

INSURANCE

Frank Scalese has been named market leader for MetLife's Uniondale/Huntington territory and will work in the Roslyn office. The Plainview resident will take on this new role and continue to manage MetLife offices in Roslyn, Garden City, Lake Success and Long Island City; lead North Coast Financial Group, a subsidiary of MetLife; and oversee firm operations at New England Wealth Strategies.

Gerard Kane has been appointed vice president and managing director at Atlantic Agency's property and casualty division in North Babylon and will manage the restaurant and hospitality division. The Manorville resident was most recently a group benefits consultant with Island Group Plans in Bohemia after retiring from the New York City Fire Department.

FINANCE

Shawn Dwyer has joined Mid-Island Mortgage Corp. in Westbury as assistant vice president of sales, specializing in union business development. The Lynbrook resident was union relations director at Associated Mortgage Bankers in Garden City.

ENGINEERING

D & B Engineers and Architects in Woodbury have announced two promotions.

Olga Mubarak-Jaramillo has been promoted to senior associate in the wastewater collection and treatment division. She was an associate and lives in Northport.

Steve Tauss has been promoted to associate in the environmental remediation and multimedia environmental compliance divisions. The Huntington Station resident was an environmental scientist.
