Nassau Community College has announced two new changes on the board of trustees.
Dr. Jorge L. Gardyn has been elected chair of the board. The Garden City resident is the division chief of occupational and corporate medicine at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.
Kathy Weiss has been elected vice chair of the board. The Oyster Bay resident is an adjunct professor at LIU Post's education school in Brookville and a special compliance officer for sexual harassment, ethnic harassment and workplace discrimination for school districts in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Chris Congema has been named president and investment adviser at Core-X Wealth Management, an investment advisory firm in Melville. The Commack resident was a senior account executive at Fidelity Investments in Huntington.
Steve Klis joins Henry Schein in Melville in the newly created position of president, Henry Schein global practice solutions. The Northport resident was senior vice president and general manager of CareFusion at its international headquarters in Rolle, Switzerland.
