Jay Matuk has been appointed to the board of directors for the Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. The Miller Place resident is the principal of Cold Spring Harbor Junior-Senior High School and an instructor in the educational leadership program at LIU Post.

Melissa Negrin-Wiener has been appointed to the board of the Suffolk County Women's Bar Association. The Smithtown resident is a partner at Genser Dubow Genser & Cona, an elder-law firm in Melville.

Ron Ben-Bassat has joined Ruskin Moscou Faltischek in Uniondale as an associate in the firm's corporate and securities department. The Oceanside resident previously held a similar position at Anslow & Jaclin in New Jersey.

MARKETING

Heather Catherall, of Lake Grove, has joined MapToons, a map company in Massapequa, as a sales representative. She previously held a similar position at South Bay's Neighbor newspaper in Farmingdale.
