This Sea Cliff residence was transformed from a mid-1960s ranch to a modern two-story dwelling during a gut renovation and expansion in the early 2000s, its listing agent says. The four-bedroom, four-bath home is now listed for $949,000.

During that overhaul, a second story with two bedrooms, a full bath and a master bedroom with an en-suite full bath was added, says listing agent Kathy Wallach of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.

The first floor was also reconfigured to produce a second en-suite master bedroom with sliding doors to the backyard, a living room with a brick fireplace and a kitchen with granite surfaces, a six-burner stove and Wolf appliances.

The home is situated on a 75-by-110-foot lot dotted with perennials, trees and framed with tiers of layered slate walls. A grassy backyard contains a bluestone patio and a basketball court, a pond with a waterfall and nightscape lighting.

Hardwood floors, six-panel solid wood doors and crown moldings are found throughout the home, and the kitchen and living room feature vaulted wood-beam ceilings. Curved archways lead to the dining room and the second-floor master bedroom suite, and wainscoted walls are found in the eat-in kitchen and along the staircase.

Windows and the roof were also replaced during the renovation, and a finished lower level includes a den with a brick wall, a laundry room, a mirrored workout room with a ballet barre and a wine cellar, Wallach says.
