An Oyster Bay Cove property, listed for $1,499,000, seems tailor-made for getting the party started.

That is not to say the interior does not provide many amenities. The five-bedroom, four-bath, two half-bath California ranch has a Southwest style, with terra-cotta floors with radiant heat and the furniture to match. Floor-to-ceiling windows feature a tint designed to protect what's inside from fading.

However, the 2.5-acre grounds are sure to bring out the smiles -- the house has hosted everything from events arranged by one of the owners (a retired party planner) to a 150-person wedding for the couple's daughter. A gunite pool centers the outdoor area, which also features a fish pond and a cabana equipped with a bar, TV and bathroom.

The property has many specimen trees. The installation of halogen lights in the trees creates a resplendent effect in the evening. "Every night, you have moonlight -- it casts a glow over the whole property," says seller Steven Levitt, market research executive.
