An antique Jamesport home that’s been freshened up while maintaining its original features is on the market for $599,000.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom, 2,000-square-foot house has original exposed beams and original exposed brick, although the owners painted over the brick to give it a more modern feel, says listing agent Mariah Mills of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.

Still, once you’re inside, you’ll know that you’re in a house that was built in the 1830s from the architecture alone.

“There’s bead boarding on the ceiling and a lot of period details,” Mills says.

The floors have wide planks, and the bedrooms have old, slanted ceilings. “They did their own touches to it to keep the old feel but to add a little new,” she says.

One of the bathrooms has been remodeled, she says.
