A home built in 1770 by a captain who served in the Revolutionary War is on the market in Head of the Harbor for $899,000.
Caleb Davis built what is now a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house, which was later bought by the owner of the St. James General Store in the 1990s, says listing agent Bonnie Glenn of Coach Realtors.
The main house is 3,300 square feet, and it comes with an additional one-bedroom cottage that has a bathroom, fireplace and kitchen.
Inside the main house, the living room looks over a pond.
The house, which as a thatched roof, has been upgraded.
"It has gas heat and three huge gas fireplaces, with an updated eat-in kitchen, bathrooms and Andersen windows," Glenn says.
The family room has a slanted high roof with windows that overlook a brook.
