The June issue of House Beautiful includes a feature on Locust Valley resident and big name interior designer Jeffrey Bilhuber. Photos of the color-rich rooms in his home and a fun interview are spread over 12 pages.

Bilhuber did a lot of historical research before he started the interior décor and contends that “every room in every house I researched was brilliantly colored.” So you’ll see Benjamin Moore’s Chic Lime on the walls of the living room and bold red damask wallpaper on the master bedroom walls.

“The house isn’t at all bashful," he tells the magazine. The floor of the library is painted green, an idea he borrowed from Thomas Jefferson. We love this guy!

To look at interior shots of this 342-year-old house and know that when he bought the home it was characterized as “uninhabitable” is astonishing. He shares the home with his son, Christoph, who is almost 3 years old.

Bilhuber has done projects for several high-profile individuals that range from Michael Douglas to Mariska Hargitay to Anna Wintour.

The June issue of House Beautiful is available this week.
