Whether modest or grand, having a master bath is a "feeling of luxury," says Fran Covello of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty, who is marketing a house in Syosset with the feature.

Some master baths are basic. Think shower, sink, commode, while others are spacious and designed with imported materials, roomy steam showers, whirlpool tubs and self-flushing headed commodes with bidet functions.

Either way, master bathrooms add value to a home and sometimes aid in a quicker sale, say real estate agents.
