Ocean views and what the listing agent describes as "the best surf break on the East Coast" are all included at this $795,000 condominium in the Montauk Shores association.
Like most of the homes in the community, the 650-square-foot, two-bedroom, one-bathroom house is prefabricated.
Located south of Montauk Highway, Montauk Shores is near Ditch Plains Beach and boasts three community decks overlooking the ocean. "It's just a spectacular spot," says listing agent Edward Patrowicz of The Corcoran Group. Patrowicz is a homeowner and resident in the community as well.
The area was first a campground and trailer park. By the mid-1970s, the 20-acre property became the site of more permanent dwellings seen there today.
"The original tenants who used to rent space got together and bought the property together," Patrowicz says.
Many property owners live seasonally in Montauk Shores, a community that has recently gained attention as being one of the more attainable ways of experiencing the East End as a homeowner.
Besides the surf and sand, the community includes two heated pools, a playground, a clubhouse and a basketball court.
"It's like going back in time," Patrowicz says.
