A home in Riverhead, on the market for $249,990, comes with an unusual rock garden in the front yard.

The owner purchased the three-bedroom ranch to renovate and sell, and had Tom Stapon, who owns a nursery business in Jamesport, come up with an idea to improve concrete terracing that took up most of the front yard. Someone Stapon knew was doing excavation work in Manhattan, and Stapon took the leftover rock to use for a garden, says listing agent Keith Jefferson of RE/MAX Integrity Leaders.

"I wasn't sure what he was going to do with all those rocks, but when he put them together it looked beautiful," Jefferson says.

The home itself has a new bathroom and kitchen with granite countertops and cherrywood cabinets, as well as a new roof, siding and windows.
