The Sagaponack land sale made by the ex-wife of New Jersey's former governor topped the list of the 10 biggest Hamptons deals last year, according to Town & Country Real Estate.
Joanne Corzine sold the 6.5-acre gated property on Gibson Lane (seen here) for $43.5 million in a year that was better than 2009 but not as good as 2007, the agency said.

All the top 10 deals were eight figures, with the lowest at $13.75 million in Wainscott, the report said.

The list did not include the entire $27.8 million Claverack estate sale in December by owner Anne Eisenhower. That Southampton property sold in three separate lots to the same buyer, making it the second biggest in the Hamptons last year, followed by Town & Country's No. 2 spot, the $25.5 million closing of an East Hampton mansion that had belonged to Carol Ann Morgan, the widow of J. Ronald Morgan, who had been chief executive of Pershing Limited in London and also of Thomson McKinnon Securities.

Judi Desiderio, the real estate agency's chief executive, predicted a jump this year in the number of Hamptons deals and sales volume.
