Babylon blogger documents house search

One Long Islander has gone online to document his search for the perfect home.
Gary Weiner, who works at Brookhaven National Laboratory, started his blog homeinbabylon.com with wife Debra Euler, a managing editor at Penguin, two years ago as a “journal” to help them in their search for a home in Babylon. As the site says, “It’s also about Babylon Village itself, the real estate market in general and about other random things that seem appropriate.”
Weiner has lived in Mastic Beach, Patchogue and Brookhaven and moved to Babylon to live with Debra, who has been a Babylon resident for 10 years. “It’s hard sometimes because any house you go to there’s something a little wrong,” he says on wanting to be honest yet nice in his posts. “I always try to be a little funny about it.” Today Weiner looks back on the site to compare homes he sees and narrow down what he is looking for in a home. Homeinbabylon also gives Weiner, and his readers, a unique perspective into the homes he features. “I’ve really educated myself a lot and I have some really interesting posters,” he says.Tags: Babylon
