The U.S. Marshal is selling the Montauk estate of a former salesman for Agape World Inc. Agape World was Nicholas Cosmo’s Hauppauge-based investment firm. Cosmo is accused of masterminding a $400 million Ponzi scheme through the company.
Jason Keryc, the homeowner, has not been charged with any crime; his home is being sold as part of a civil forfeiture case, the U.S. Attorney’s office confirms. Keryc’s attorney could not be reached for comment.
Proceeds will be placed in escrow, pending a final judgment in the civil case.
The 1.9-acre property is listed for $2.499 million with Enzo Morabito of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
Records show that Keryc purchased the 4,300-square-foot cedar shingle Colonial in July 2008 for $2.7 million. The home was built in 2003, and has five bedrooms, 3 ½ baths, a heated pool and a detached barn.
